Our Story
Behind Darealma-Food lies a beautiful story of family, love, and a shared passion for great food.
The name Darealma was created by combining the first names of its founders, the Amisi couple: Darrell and Alma. Its pronunciation also playfully echoes the English expression “The Real Ma”, reflecting authenticity, family values, and the comforting flavours of homemade cooking.
Founded in 2021, Darealma-Food went through an extended break before making a fresh start in April 2026, with a renewed vision and an innovative business concept. November 4, 2026 marks the official beginning of this exciting new chapter.

Our cuisine draws inspiration from African and European culinary traditions, bringing together a delicious selection of authentic, flavourful, and generously prepared specialties.
To preserve this culinary richness, we collaborate with passionate chefs and experienced home cooks who have spent years mastering traditional recipes. Among them are Mama Alma-Sita Amisi and Mama Nadia Lutina, whose experience, dedication, and passion contribute to several of our signature homemade recipes.
Our mission is simple: to bring you the comforting taste of home while inviting you to explore the flavours of different cultures.

Our restaurant primarily operates through online orders, but what makes us unique is our growing network of partner restaurants across Berlin.
Through these partnerships, you can enjoy selected Darealma-Food specialties directly at participating restaurants, including José Bass in Wedding, with more locations expected to join our network. Each partner restaurant offers a selection of Darealma-Food dishes, making it easier for customers to discover and enjoy our cuisine in different Berlin neighbourhoods.

Smoked Goat Meat (Ntaba)
One of the highlights of Darealma-Food is our signature smoked goat meat, traditionally known as Ntaba. Inspired by authentic African culinary traditions, our goat meat is carefully seasoned, smoked, and prepared using flavourful recipes that celebrate the richness of African cuisine.
We also offer specially prepared and packaged food products designed for convenient storage and easy preparation at home. At Darealma-Food, we place great importance on ingredient selection, food quality, and preserving the authentic taste of every recipe.

For 13 years, Darrell and Alma have shared more than just a love story — they have shared a common vision. Married and proud parents of five boys in Berlin, they have never given up on their dream of building a business that meets people’s everyday needs.
